MAN gives KWAN a chess set, in which a diamond necklace has been placed. FONG promises on behalf of MAN that the CHUNGs will be attending the grand re-opening of Kam Wu Hotel in Shanghai, for which she gets a terrible telling-off from her husband. FONG points out to LAN that YIN has never been willing to travel to Shanghai, and that the upcoming trip is going to be a wonderful one only shared by MAN and the two of them……
